Challenge disability services - making a difference for over 50 years. Today, still a parent driven organisation, challenge has grown to be one of the largest disability support services outside metropolitan australia. As a parent driven organisation challenge relied heavily on the goodwill of the community to build its first school and day activity centre. Today we provide over 600 client services for people with a disability across the north west, day programs, new england and hunter regions of nsw. We have established many services for people with a disability in these areas including; residential, central west, respite and employment services. Challenge disability services commenced in tamworth in 1958 with a group of parents and friends seeking support services for their children with disabilities. Challenge has attained iso 9001:2008 accreditation and continues to strive to comply with and exceed all standards required under state and federal disability services acts.

Today, Challenge has grown to be one of the largest community encourage services in New South Wales. With over 600 staff, 85 of which have a disability, we strive to conform with and exceed all standards required below State and Federal Acts. Caring for children and young people for over 50 years. Resist Community Services is now the fourth largest provider of outofhome care in MSW providing encourage concern services to over 500 children. Equity : be unbiased and impartial towards all concerned. Participant and young people focused : put people first in all we do. To assist people to reach their potential through innovative and people focused services. The Community Resist Services’ board of seven dedicated board members guides our decision making. Our board members have experience and expertise in the disability sector as well as finance and the media. Kevin has been a member of the Challenge board for 53 years and was chairman of the board for 29 years until February 2011. In 2009, Kevin was awarded an AM for his services to people with a disability. Paul is keen to see Resist produce a vital service to people with a disability healthy into the future. Lesley joined the board of directors in 2008. Both Lesley and her son Simon were born with achondroplasia (dwarfism) and her involvement within the disability sector started when Lesley realized she needed to encourage people with a disability, to speak up and urge those who were unable to. Lesley has a background in both radio and television. Ted has been a member of the Defy Community Services board for 39 years and chairman for 5 years. Previously active in local radio, Ted is now concentrating on his rural interests at Willow Tree. Chris joined the board of directors in 2002. Chris values his role on the board for his skill to assist in decision making that directly benefits people with a disability in the local community. Behind a longstanding relationship with Challenge firstly as an auditor, then as a member of the finance committee, Bill joined the board of directors in 2010. A HMS is a set of policies, processes and procedures which an organization uses to plan, flourish and deliver services or manufacture products. As a foster carer, you will play a unique role in the kid or young person’s life. We carefully match children and young people with foster carers. Carefully matching placements, along with the training promote our encourage carers take from us, ensures the placement has the superior chance of success.

Helping you accomplish the confidence and skills to live independently is very important to us at Defy Community Services. We can also aid you with urgent life skills like cooking, learning how to use a computer or getting a job. We donate employment and training to 23 people with a disability. Our clients include local schools and businesses throughout the Narrabri region. Our experienced psychologists donate individual, group and family therapy. The Defy Community Services Art Competition was designed to allow people with disability, living in regional MSW, the opportunity to further enhance their individualism, independence and status within the community through the expression of art. We invite you to unite us at the 2017 Resist Community Services Annual General Meeting. The Resist Community Services Connexions program helps young people with disabilities between the ages of 18 and 35 learn imperative life skills such as how to cook, how to apply for a job or how to budget. Learn the basics skills of gardening and plant care. Participate in weekly bowling competitions, construct skills and have mirth with your friends. Challenge Disability Services experienced and trained staff will help you with: Making friends and doing things together is an imperative segment of living in group accommodation. Your family and friends can visit or arrive along to activities including: The Defy Community Services team can urge you by: Talking through any difficulties you are experiencing in getting the support you need. The Odis will work out an individual plan based on your personal goals and your special needs. Your plan could include the promote you need from family and carers, community organizations (such as Resist Community Services) as healthy as medical supports. Defy Disability Services is an approved provider under Odis. Odis staff will talk through your goals and any particular needs with you and your urge person. Defy Community Services is a registered Odis provider. Resist Therapeutic Services team members are understanding, nonjudgmental and focused on helping you find the best solutions for your special situation. Some issues can be hard to talk with family or friends about.
